Nancy’s love for music comes naturally. As the daughter of well-known Northwestern musician, Frederick Reynold “Renny” Foster, Nancy grew up in a house always filled with music. Her dad used to let her tag along to rehearsals when he was the Assistant Conductor and Lead Sax man at Harrah’s South Shore Room in Lake Tahoe. There she met stars like Sammy Davis Jr., Wayne Newton, Donald O’Conner, and Jack Benny. This put the bug in her to perform. She remembers singing around the piano since about the age of 5 (singing classics such as "five foot two, eyes of blue"......and "it was an itsy-bitsy, teeny-tiny, yellow polka-dot bikini"....well, you get the picture). Later she recalls being a featured soloist at numerous school concerts from grade school through high school. Upon graduating from high school in the early 70’s, she spent her evenings honing her musical abilities at North Bend, Oregon's “Little Theater on the Bay” in productions such as Cabaret, and Jesus Christ Superstar. After she moved to Boise, ID from Phoenix, AZ in 1981, she formed Next Exit. The band has undergone many changes over the last couple of years but is better than ever!
Growing up in Oklahoma, Wes remembers being mesmerized by his oldest brothers Airline guitar and hearing Deep Purple for the first time at the age of 8. He has played in numerous rock n roll/blues bands since the age of 14. As the guitarist for “Steve Allen & Sweet Misery”, Wes has performed as the warm up band for Lonnie Mack, The Grass Roots, America, and has performed and been featured at many festivals, concerts including the “Monterey Bay Blues Festival”. Some of his guitar influences include Ritchie Blackmore, Jimmy Hendrix, Robin Trower, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson, and Sonny Landreth.
Doro joined her first band at age sixteen, and has played in many others in the decades since then. She is currently in two bands: Next Exit and Soulpie. She is also a composer, drawing from a broad spectrum of influences ranging from Claude Debussy to Billy Preston. Doro llove performing and has a special affinity for the blues, which makes Next Exit the perfect fit for her!
Ryan grew up in West Point, CA. Played guitar in Kids For Sale and Four Star Bravado out of Eureka, CA where he had the pleasure of playing with the best bass player he has ever known, Steve Clark and when he relocated to Oregon, he converted from guitar to bass focusing on the blues, rock and funk styles that inspired him. Ryan is excited to be a part of Next Exit and looks forward to helping give Southern Oregon shows that make you want to dance from start to finish.
Dave has played the drums for 40 years. Rock and Roll. Blues. Fusion. Country. Touring the NorthWest and Alaska, for about 10 years with Blues bands. He has years of recording experience...more to come on this later! He has perfomred in many theater productions and clubs, shows, and festivals.
